Round 3 Preview: 19/20 November

AWIHL.com.au

The pressure is well and truly on as round three of the AWIHL season tightens the competition
between all four woman’s teams.
This weekend the North Stars-Sirens face-off with the Brisbane Goannas in Newcastle, going round
two following their last meeting November 5-6.
The Adelaide Adrenaline and Melbourne Ice will once again meet, playing their second double-
header weekend in the city of churches.
The Sirens and Goannas first meeting on the 5th and 6th of this month in Brisbane was a valuable
learning experience for the Sirens.
Putting their planning and training into action the Sirens team produced two wins of 3-2 and 13-1.
A result they hope to replicate this weekend.
In this stage of the season so far all four teams have lost at least one game each.
The Sirens lost their first game to the 2011 AWIHL Champions, the Melbourne Ice Women’s Team,
but delivered the Ice’s only loss the second game of their double header weekend in Newcastle.
The Ice also delivered the Adelaide Adrenaline women’s team only loss so far in a shoot-out on
November 5th.
Looking to the weekend ahead, the Sirens are confident they can reproduce another two wins
against the Goannas, but this time in their new home rink, the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium.
The pressure is on as the competition becomes fierce!
